Welcome 2015 & January IWSG

Elaine knew how to celebrate!
The animated version was hilarious,
but so distracting!
For me, the beginning of a new year is about reaching & striving, setting goals, accomplishing tasks, and continuing to seek happiness. At the close of 2014 (even though it took me the better part of the year), I sent my manuscript to my agent. A definite reason to celebrate!

As I settle into the first few days of 2015, I'm focusing on the next 12 months. Hopes. Goals. Dreams. Personal Promises.

My agent loves my manuscript
Edits are manageable and fun and accomplished in a timely manner
My business, Be the Tree Yoga continues to succeed
I find the time and freedom to paint

Continue to push HOW TO LEASH A THIEF towards publication
Blog more
Blog makeover
Work 2 new classes into weekly yoga schedule
Do some advertising for yoga biz
Get closets cleaned out and donate stuff
Nurture my friendships
Set up a permanent painting space
Feed my muse by...
Writing more
Gardening more
Painting more
Reading more

It's quite simple (and hasn't changed much in the past few years) PUBLISH SOMETHING!!!

Personal Promises

Do things that make me happy
Make time for more yoga (just for me)
Share my heart with loved ones, friends, and those who buy my chairs (It means supporting the things I do)
Stop being hurt by those who don't buy my chairs
Love, nurture, and enjoy my family
Don't fret
Be happy
Be me
And above all...
Seek grace, not perfection

"She Sought Grace" is part of my She Heals series

It's the 1st IWSG post for 2015! If you haven't heard about this awesome group, check out the IWSG website. This month's fabulous co-hosts are: Elizabeth Seckman, Lisa Buie-Collard, Chrys Fey, and Michelle Wallace!

The IWSG is also on Facebook

This month we're asked to share a little about ourselves. To save space in this post, my Google bio up to the left is a 95-word intro to me. :)

Write on, folks!

  1. Those are all great goals, hopes, and dreams. I didn't know you had a yoga business.

  2. Happy New Year, Alex! How do you do it? You've been the first comment on my blog for nearly three years. Unbelievable! You're amazing. Yes, I teach 6 classes a week. Not a lot, and I'm looking to add more classes this year. It's been tough getting started in a small town, but I'm trying.

  3. Oh my gosh, I love those titles! I already want to read them. :) Good luck with all your goals, hopes, and dreams! :)

  4. Sounds like all your ducks are lining up!!! Good goals and dreams!!! Much Luck and Success in 2015!!

  5. Rachel is right: those titles are great, making you want to read them. Seems like the word MORE is in all of your goals. You could get a "Goal Hernia" if you don't watch out! May 2015 surprise you with how good it is to you. Miss you at my blog. :-(

  6. Rachel, wow... thanks! I actually worked for weeks coming up with the title and a few more to go along in the series. MC is a dog groomer by day, and her sidekick is her pup, so went a bit doggy with the titles. Of course, they're not set in stone, as it may be out of my control. We'll see. :)

Cathrina, thank you, dear! And you too!!

Roland, a goal hernia... Rofl! I hope 2015 brings you tons of success and happiness. Heading over to your blog now. You read one of my goals is to blog more, that includes visits. :D

  7. Make it happen and I wish I could too. :-)

Here's my link if you'd like to drop by :-)

    Anna from Shout with Emaginette

  8. Thanks, Anna! And I just visited your blog. :)

  9. Awesome. I think those are all some amazing goals, hopes, etc. I especially love the grace thing because we all fall on our faces sometimes, eh? I LOVE your optimistic tone and here's hoping with you that this year is the best one EVER!

  10. Those are wonderful lists! I hope 2015 is your year, Candilynn! And I have my fingers crossed for your manuscript. :)

  11. Awesome goals, Candi. And don't worry about blogging infrequently. My mate, PJ Reece blogs once a month or less and yet he's immensely successful! You're doing great. I like your goals and hopes and wish you all the luck in the world :-)

  12. Awesome stuff her! I hope loads of success come your way! M.

  13. Coincidence? I think not! I just bought a yoga mat and 3 DVDs this past weekend. :)

    Good luck with your goals!

  14. Those are some great goals. Good luck with everything.

  15. Love your lists. Very inspiring! Go get 'em!

  16. You have a lot of goals to shoot for. I made a similar list that turned out to be just as long as yours, and it freaked me out so much I threw it away, lol. Good luck with your goals.

  17. Well that dream should be doable. A great list, can't go wrong with yoga as it has sure made me more bendy haha

  18. Candilynn, I'm sharing your hope that your agent LURVES your MS and things will go steadily from there. Your various hopes, dreams and personal promises are all worthwhile endeavors. I wish you the best in succeeding in all that you put your mind to :-)

  19. You've set yourself up to have an awesome and inspiring year. I just got into yoga this past year and it's immensely helped me physically and mentally. I want to make even more time for it this year. I'm sure your agent will love your manuscript! Happy New Year. :)

  20. Good luck with all things yoga and writing this year! Your goals and hopes sound doable. Have a great year!

  21. Good luck with all your plans I hope it goes well for you and that you achieve your dream in 2015 :)

  22. Those are wonderful lists! We have the same dream. Best of luck making your dream come true! Happy 2015!

  23. Lofty goals! Good luck with your agent and story.

  24. Looks like you've got lots of great things to aim for in 2015. Good luck, and enjoy!

  25. I like your personal promises--they really show what's important in life!

  26. (I really hope this comment only comes through once!! If not, I'm sorry for the repeats :))

First of all, thank you so much for visiting my IWSG post! I appreciate the comment :) A yoga business sounds like a wonderful job! I LOVE doing yoga...which reminds me that's one of MY goals for the new year! Best of luck to you in all your goals and hopes for 2015!!
