Happy IWSG day, folks! I hope my news will offer inspiration to you all. Just when I thought I'd hit rock bottom, something good happened. After my mom passed away in December, I had a bit of trouble writing. Okay, a whole lotta trouble.
So, I did what most writers do and busied myself with another project. Revising a 64k New Adult Mystery Romance. Boy, am I having a blast with the rewrites! What was I thinking when I tucked this baby in a drawer in 2012?!
To make matters even sweeter, my agent read over the first chapter and a short synops and likes it! Life is good, folks.
Revision City can be a rough part of town. Plot holes lurk around every corner. Congested sentences are littered with trash. Flat characters run rampant. Here are a few tips to get you through the muck, that crappy first draft. Hail to the polished manuscript!

And don't be a prisoner of the desk! Take your laptop to a coffee shop or a park. Print out a few pages and revise in the fresh air & sunshine. Get up. Move around. Stretch. And for your family's sake, shower! Trust me, Revision City will be a happier place.
