I've been blogging since 2010. Not as long as some of you, but I've put in three great years. When I first began my blogging endeavor, I had the sole purpose of promoting my writing. The results haven't been exactly what I'd expected. To my knowledge, I only sold two books to fellow bloggers (and to you both, I give you my heart <3).
My blogging endeavor morphed into a way of connecting with like-minded, writerly folk. I've met some fabulous people via blogging, and for that, I'm eternally grateful. But lately, trying to keep up with all the social media, writing, family, trying to run my own yoga business, and life in general, I feel like this...
I realized, something has to give. I have to keep in mind why I began blogging in the first place. My writing.
I applaud those of you who have the ability to do it all. Y'all rock.
After realizing blogging (at this point in the game) isn't selling my writing, but keeping me in contact with other writers, I've come to the difficult decision to cut back. Way back.
I need to spend more time writing. In the end, I don't want to go out as a blogger. I want to go out as a novelist or a picture book author. Big dreams, I know. But if I don't honor my dreams, no one will do it for me.
I've decided to only post once a month. I know some of you will scoff. Others will think I'm making a mistake. But I hope most of you will understand. To make the most out of my blogging endeavor, which is now solely for the purpose of connecting, I'll only post the 1st Wednesday of the month, in conjunction with IWSG. My goal is to visit as many blogs then, as possible.
For those of you who are not familiar with the Insecure Writers Support Group (IWSG), please visit the link and discover a fabulous group of supportive people. I cannot say enough about them! Check out the IWSG Facebook Page, too.
This isn't the end. It's merely a new beginning.
Hugs & Write On, Y'all~
