February's IWSG Post

This month in my post for Alex J. Cavanaugh's Insecure Writer's Support Group I was going to offer a supportive message, then I was going to spend the rest of the month hopping around offering support to others on their blogs. But, alas, something popped up (yes, an insecurity) and it has to do with writing / blogging, so I better fess up.

I'm terrified that after I have surgery on Feb. 20th, I won't be around much in the blogosphere, and all of my followers will leave me. :((  Pitiful, aren't I? I'll try to get on the computer as soon as I feel up to it, but in the back of my mind, there's a shrill voice squealing, "Nobody will care that your gone!"

Okay, that's it for my insecurities. Now, if you want to read an inspirational / supportive post, see my post from Sunday. :))

    1. Awe, thanks bunches, Kelley!!! I've actually been trying to think positively about this operation. Doc says if I don't do it, no more yoga, ever. No horseback riding:( nothing where I risk a fall or twisting of the neck. For me, to have surgery or not to have surgery, there's no choice. I have to fix this. I'm a yoga instructor for Pete's sake! I have faith in the medical world, my surgeon, and my own ability to heal.

      Thank you for being there:))

  9. Never worry about people forgetting you. I've gone on hiatus so many times and every time I feed that fear of coming back to no followers. I've returned to find I lost one or two, but the bulk were just waiting for me to find my footing. Your followers are going to care more that you're having a successful recovery than they will that you aren't as productive as you used to be in the blogosphere. :) New follower, here.

    1. Thank you, Emma! for the vote of confidence and the new follow. :) I think it's only natural to feel that if I don't check in on a daily basis that all will disappear. Who knows, I may feel up to my laptop in bed, and it'll be like I never left. :)

  14. Oh Candy, real friends will never desert you, and real life extends beyond a blog or a facebook page! Praying for you and your family that peace surround you at this time and you have lots of new material to write about! My confession is that I am extremely guilty about not picking up two Blog Awards from you. Well, I have picked them up but not done the whole post thing yet (lets just say life got in the way.) I do really appreciate them and promise to post after I get back from Canada Reads. Hugs to you girlfriend.

  15. Hi Candy! I wish you all the best with your surgery, and I agree with everyone that you shouldn't worry about people unfollowing your blog. There are blogs I follow that update very rarely on a regular basis, but I like what they have to say so I don't unfollow them. your followers will stick around if they like your blog, and they do or they wouldn't be following you!

Thanks for the post on mine, by the way, and the follow!

    1. Thank you for your kind words, Donelle. I loved the feel of your blog, the icy blue background made me smile. When I dot my "i" letters in handwriting, I always make them into darling snowflakey things! Your background deco reminds me of them. :)

I also enjoyed your IWSG post!
